Hi folks,

I'm posting, pinning and locking this thread in order to avoid having to answer the same questions a zillion times. With effect from 1 January 2010, the Appendix D4 Production Division rules will change, and below is a summary of what the rule changes mean:

1. It doesn't matter what magazines you use, original ("OFM") or aftermarket ("AM"), provided none of the magazines accessible to you during a COF are loaded with more than 15 rounds at the Start Signal.

2. Yes, you can have your very first mag loaded with 16 rounds (aka "a Barney mag") for the purpose of responding to the LAMR command, if the gun can be prepared with a loaded chamber. If the gun is to be prepared with an empty chamber, no deal.

3. Yes, AM mags can now be of any length. Yes, you can now use OFM +N basepads on OFM mags (any basepads on AM mags). We only care about the number of rounds actually loaded in them at the Start Signal.

4. No, you cannot use a G31 magazine in a G17-G19-G26. Point 19 has not changed. A 357SIG mag is not a factory option on a 9mm Glock. Point 19 also means you still cannot modify OFM mags except as specifically permitted, but you can use OFM optional +N and/or protective basepads on OFM mags.

5. Yes, you can drill small witness holes in your OFM/AM magazines to assist with checking. LATE UPDATE: You can also do this with your followers.

6. Yes, you can install a plastic or dowelling (but not steel or tungsten) limiter inside your OFM magazines to prevent over loading.

7. Yes, if you want to look like a moron, you can use a 33 round mag in your Glock 26. The maximum 170mm rule only applies to Open Division.

8. If a Range Officer deems that any of the magazines accessible to you during a COF had more than 15 rounds loaded in them at the Start Signal, you will get bumped to Open Division. This applies even if you didn't actually use the illegal mag. The operative word is "accessible", not "accessed"!
